You need to try this viral TikTok cinnamon rolls hack. We take store-bought refrigerated rolls and soak them in heavy whipping cream before baking. This simple step creates unbelievably soft, gooey, bakery-style cinnamon rolls that taste like Cinnabon copycats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (12.4 oz) refrigerated cinnamon rolls (Pillsbury Grands recommended)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 package cream cheese frosting (included with the rolls)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Open the can of cinnamon rolls. Place the rolls into the prepared baking dish, leaving a small space between each roll.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy whipping cream, melted butter, and brown sugar until the sugar starts to dissolve. This is your secret ingredient for moist rolls.
  4. Pour the heavy cream mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls in the pan. Make sure the liquid coats the bottom and sides of the rolls.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through. The heavy cream will create a rich, moist sauce.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven. Immediately spread the included cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls.
  7. Let the rolls cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your soft, gooey cinnamon rolls immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra Cinnabon copycat flavor, you can add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the heavy cream mixture.
  • If your rolls are smaller than Pillsbury Grands, you may need slightly less liquid, but aim to cover the bottom of the pan.
  • Do not skip the heavy cream soak; this is the key to the viral texture and how to make cinnamon rolls moist.
