  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Combine macaroni, water, and salt in a large pot. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until macaroni is tender and water is mostly absorbed, stirring occasionally.
  3. Stir in butter, milk, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until butter is melted and combined.
  4. Remove pot from heat. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until smooth and creamy.
  5. Serve immediately.
