Make these easy salmon bites in the air fryer for a fast, flavorful weeknight dinner or appetizer. They feature a sweet and savory honey garlic glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for crispiness)
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds and chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, and ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Add the cubed salmon to the marinade. Gently toss to coat all pieces. Let it marinate for 10 minutes. Do not marinate for too long as the acid in the soy sauce can start to break down the fish.
  3. Sprinkle the cornstarch over the marinated salmon cubes and toss lightly until the pieces are evenly dusted. This step helps create a crisp exterior.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding, which prevents crisping.
  6. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes, flipping the pieces halfway through the cooking time, until the salmon is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  7. Remove the salmon bites from the air fryer. If you have extra marinade left, you can quickly simmer it on the stovetop until slightly thickened to use as a final drizzle.
  8. Serve immediately garnished with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.

Notes

  • For an extra spicy kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the honey garlic sauce.
  • These salmon bites reheat well, making them good for meal prep. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake these on a parchment-lined baking sheet at 400°F (200°C) for 12 to 15 minutes.
