Make this simple, flavorful honey garlic chicken and broccoli on one pan for fast dinner and easy cleanup. This recipe delivers a sticky, savory glaze perfect for weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large head of broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon cold water (slurry)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper for simple cleanup.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chicken pieces with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread the chicken in a single layer on one half of the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Toss the broccoli florets with a small amount of salt and pepper and spread them on the other half of the baking sheet.
  4. Bake the chicken and broccoli for 15 minutes.
  5. While the chicken and broccoli bake, prepare the honey garlic sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger. Heat over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  6. Whisk the cornstarch slurry into the simmering sauce. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens, about 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  7. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Drizzle half of the honey garlic sauce over the chicken and toss gently to coat. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the broccoli.
  8. Return the pan to the oven and bake for another 5 to 8 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  9. Serve immediately over rice or noodles if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier glaze, add 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the sauce while cooking.
  • If you want to make this a complete meal bowl, serve the chicken and broccoli over steamed white rice or brown rice.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for chicken breasts if you prefer darker meat.
