A quick and flavorful marinade that keeps tuna steaks tender and delicious, perfect for grilling or pan-searing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place tuna steaks in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag.
  3. Pour the marinade over the tuna steaks, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes, or up to 30 minutes. Do not over-marinate, as the citrus can ‘cook’ the fish.
  5. Remove tuna from marinade and discard the used marinade.
  6. Cook tuna steaks as desired.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh tuna steaks.
  • This marinade is also excellent for other types of fish or seafood.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic and ginger to your preference.
