Ingredients
Scale
3 ripe avocados
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1–2 serrano peppers, finely minced (optional, for heat)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
Instructions
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
Mash the avocado with a fork to your desired consistency. For chunky guacamole, leave some larger pieces. For smoother guacamole, mash more thoroughly.
Add the chopped red onion, cilantro, minced serrano peppers (if using), lime juice, salt, and cumin (if using) to the bowl.
Stir gently to combine all ingredients. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Serve immediately or cover tightly with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning.
Notes
For best results, use ripe avocados that yield to gentle pressure.
To make ahead, prepare the guacamole and press plastic wrap directly onto the surface. Refrigerate for up to 24 hours. If browning occurs, gently scrape off the top layer before serving.
Serve with tortilla chips, vegetables, or as a topping for tacos and other dishes.
Consider this a great alternative to meal planning services for a fresh, homemade option.
