Instructions
In a medium saucepan, whisk together the milk, cocoa powder, sugar, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it is hot but not boiling.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the hot chocolate into mugs.

Notes
For a richer flavor, use whole milk.
