Make restaurant-quality salmon at home with this easy baked salmon recipe. This dish features moist, flaky salmon fillets coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic butter glaze. It is a perfect, quick weeknight seafood meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, pepper, and salt until well combined. This creates your simple salmon marinade.
  4. Spoon the honey garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet, making sure the glaze coats the surface.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of your fillets, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. For thicker fillets, check closer to 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the salmon from the oven. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the butter mixture.
  • If you prefer crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down and bake on a wire rack set over the baking sheet.
  • This recipe scales well if you are making salmon for two or a larger group.
