A quick and fresh guacamole recipe perfect for parties or taco night, with tips for texture and storage.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 jalapeño, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the avocado with a fork to your desired consistency. For chunky guacamole, leave some larger pieces.
  3. Add the lime juice, diced red onion, cilantro (if using), salt, pepper, and minced jalapeño (if using).
  4. Stir everything together until well combined.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole before refrigerating.
  • For a smoother texture, use an immersion blender or food processor.
  • Make ahead: You can prepare the onion and jalapeño mixture ahead of time, but add the avocado and lime juice just before serving for the freshest taste.
