Make your next holiday meal simple with this easy Crockpot Turkey Breast recipe. You will achieve juicy, tender meat every time using this foolproof slow cooker method, perfect for Thanksgiving or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bone-in turkey breast (about 57 lbs)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried poultry seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

Instructions

  1. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with poultry seasoning, salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary. Rub this herb butter mixture all over the turkey breast skin.
  3. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  4. Place the seasoned turkey breast skin-side up in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours, or on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until an internal temperature of 165°F is reached in the thickest part of the breast.
  6. Carefully remove the turkey from the slow cooker and let it rest on a cutting board for 15 minutes before slicing.
  7. If you desire crispy skin, place the rested turkey breast under a preheated broiler for 3 to 5 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Use the drippings in the slow cooker to make your savory gravy.

Notes

  • For an even more flavorful gravy, mix 2 tablespoons of cornstarch with 1/4 cup of cold water before stirring it into the hot drippings in the slow cooker. Cook on high for 5 minutes until thickened.
  • If you are cooking a whole turkey instead of just the breast, increase the cooking time significantly and check for doneness frequently.
  • This recipe works well with a Butterball turkey breast.
