Ingredients
Scale
12 ounces pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, fresh basil
Instructions
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Pour in the crushed tomatoes. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and pepper. Cook until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
Serve immediately, topped with optional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired.
Notes
For a richer sauce, you can add a tablespoon of butter along with the heavy cream.
Feel free to add cooked chicken, shrimp, or vegetables for a heartier meal.
This recipe is easily adaptable to your taste preferences. Adjust garlic, salt, and pepper as needed.
