An easy and cozy dessert featuring ripe pears baked with cinnamon and maple syrup. Perfect for a quick fall treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears (like Bosc or Anjou)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • Optional toppings: vanilla ice cream, Greek yogurt, granola

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Wash the pears and cut them in half lengthwise. Use a spoon to scoop out the core and seeds.
  3. Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted butter.
  5. Spoon the maple-cinnamon mixture evenly over the cut surfaces of the pears.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender when pierced with a fork.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Choose pears that are ripe but still firm to the touch. They should yield slightly when gently pressed.
  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of bourbon or rum to the maple syrup mixture before baking.
  • These baked pears are delicious served with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, or a sprinkle of crunchy granola.
