A simple, no-bake fall treat featuring dark chocolate, tart apples, and a salty caramel crunch. Perfect for parties or snack boards.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces dark chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup caramel bits or chopped soft caramels
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced and patted very dry
  • 1/4 cup chopped pretzels or nuts (optional)
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
  3. Spread the melted chocolate evenly onto the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle the apple slices evenly over the chocolate.
  5. Sprinkle the caramel bits over the apple slices. If using, add chopped pretzels or nuts.
  6. Sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt.
  7. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely firm.
  8. Once firm, break the bark into pieces.
  9. Store in an airtight container in the freezer.

Notes

  • Ensure apple slices are very dry to prevent the chocolate from seizing.
  • You can substitute milk or white chocolate for dark chocolate.
  • Other topping ideas include chopped pecans, walnuts, or even a drizzle of extra caramel.
  • For make-ahead convenience, this bark freezes well for up to 2 weeks.
