Ingredients
Scale
4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
Pat the salmon fillets dry using paper towels. This helps the seasoning adhere better.
In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
Spoon the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
Remove from the oven. Garnish with fresh lemon slices if desired before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can wrap the salmon tightly in foil packets before baking. This traps moisture and creates a steamy environment for very tender fish.
If you prefer a slightly sweeter glaze, add 1 teaspoon of honey to the butter mixture. This creates a honey garlic butter baked salmon flavor.
Check the internal temperature; salmon is done when it reaches 145°F (63°C).
