Ingredients
Scale
1 pound frozen raw shrimp (peeled and deveined, medium to large size)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
Take the frozen shrimp directly from the freezer. You do not need to thaw them. If the shrimp are clumped together, gently break them apart.
Place the frozen shrimp in a medium bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat lightly.
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried parsley to create your simple air fryer shrimp seasoning.
Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the oiled shrimp and toss again until the shrimp are evenly coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius) for 3 minutes.
Place the seasoned frozen shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to achieve crispy edges.
Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes. At the halfway point (around 4 or 5 minutes), pull out the basket and shake it well to redistribute the shrimp.
Continue cooking until the shrimp are pink, opaque, and cooked through. The total time will depend on the size of your shrimp.
Remove the juicy air fryer shrimp immediately and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, or add them to tacos or salads.
Notes
For breaded frozen shrimp, use a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
If you prefer a stronger flavor, substitute the olive oil with 1 tablespoon of melted butter mixed with 1/2 teaspoon of minced fresh garlic.
This recipe works well for quick weeknight dinners and is a healthy air fryer seafood alternative to deep frying.
